If an NCFC* player AND/OR anyone in their home tests positive for COVID-19, OR has close contact exposure to a person with COVID-19 AND/OR is symptomatic, the player may not attend any NCFC training or games until cleared by NCFC representative.
Guardians must notify the Coach, DOC, and Mark Barry via email within 24 hours of a confirmed close contact exposure OR a positive COVID-19 test.
Close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 is defined by public health as: someone who has been in a room such as in a classroom, meeting room, house, car or other interior area for at least 15 minutes within a distance less than 6 feet.
Symptoms of COVID-19 can include:
- Cough
- Fever (100.4 or greater)
- Shortness of breath
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
- Body Aches
- Headache
- Sore Throat
- Sneezing
- Runny Nose
- New Loss of Taste or Smell
When a NCFC coach is notified of a positive COVID-19 test OR close contact exposure the coach is responsible for notifying the team of any potential exposure. (Giving other NCFC members the option to withhold their player from training or games.)
Any NCFC players with a positive COVID-19 test result may only return after receiving a negative COVID-19 test result. Should the player choose NOT to test, a medical doctor's note is required for proof of being symptom-free for at least 10 days after onset of symptoms.
Guardians will submit the required documentation to the Coach, DOC and Mark Barry via Email. Mark Barry will notify the guardian when the player is cleared to return to training and games.
*If a NCFC player provides proof of vaccination to Mark Barry, that player is NOT required to test, however, we do encourage the player to do so. If a player does not submit proof of vaccination status, or if they prefer not to disclose vaccination status, they will be asked to follow the safety protocols for unvaccinated players.
If a player or anyone in their household begins to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, Contact your healthcare provider and request a test for COVID-19, or utilize one of our county’s free COVID-19 testing clinics, found here: http://socoemergency.org/emergency/novel-coronavirus/testing-and-tracing/
Please stay home and follow guidance from your medical provider about quarantine, testing and safe return protocols.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our best to navigate keeping our soccer community safe.
